Detailed steps:
Introduction (1 minute)
• Introduce the quality improvement project and your goals for this presentation.
Description of the project (2-3 minutes)
• Provide an overview of the quality improvement project.

Project Plan and Lewin's Change Theory (5 minutes)
⚫ Discuss the role of the nurse in the change project by discussing the following:
⚫ The "unfreeze" phase: How do you plan to raise awareness of the issue, with reference to leadership
strategies.
⚫ The "change" phase. Describe some specific changes you will make and leadership strategies that
will help to facilitate this process.

⚫ The "refreeze" stage. Explain how you will help your colleagues sustain and institutionalize the
changes, with reference to leadership strategies.

⚫Think of leadership strategies that will help you empower and motivate, and ways you will overcome
resistance to change. Use Lewin's Change Theory as the framework.
