(color, furniture, cleanliness, pt/staff ratio, smells, noise level, etc.) What unit are you on? How many patients are on the unit? What is the sex and age range of patients? What are your feelings related to how the staff interacts with patients? Therapeutic or non-therapeutic interactions and why? Describe the role of the nurse in this setting. How is it different than in other settings? How are meds given? How are labs, x-rays, and diagnostics handled/taken? (place, frequency, etc.) Is nursing documentation done via paper or electronically? What other disciplines did you observe on the unit today? Briefly describe their role in the milieu. How often are patients scheduled to see a psychiatrist? Is structured programming posted? What groups were scheduled for today? Any patients scheduled for staffing? Any patients scheduled for court?
