we need to do research, have to provide evidence and solutions and we need to add visual aids
For your persuasive speech, you are required to use at leaast 3 visual aids. One slide on a
powerpoint counts as 1 visual aid, so 3 slides would be all you need. You could also print out
photographs, charts, show demonstrations, etc. to your audience as long as it is clear in your video

Now more than ever it is vitally important for each of us to ask ourselves what we can do for our
communities. For this group project, you will identify a problem or need your community has. You
will then imagine a pretend construction project, policy change, community service, or political
process that you believe would benefit your community and address the problem/need. Then, you
will present your plan as though you were talking to the appropriate policy makers, whether that's
city council if you are focusing on a part of your city or county, or the community college school
board if you are focusing on JCC.
Take a moment to think about your community. This could be either the town/county/neighborhood
where you live, or JCC which you attend. Identify a problem, and brainstorm a solution. Then, you
will create a proposal and presenting it as your speech.
This speech will use a rhetorical model, Monroe's Motivated Sequence, to:
Introduction: Briefly introduce your community, explain the problem/need, and summarize your
proposed idea. Don't forget your thesis statement that previews your main points!
Main point 1: Persuade the city council/school board that this project is needed to solve a
community problem, and that it is beneficial to the community/ students. Use an outside source to
verify your claim about the problem.
Main point 2: Discuss how you will bring this project to fruition. Use an outside source as an
example of how a similar project was created./nMain point 2: Discuss how you will bring this project to fruition. Use an outside source as an
