1. Canadian politics, it is said, constitutes both consensus and conflict. How

well does our parliamentary political system manage these two aspects of

our politics?

2. Does our parliamentary political system in Canada work well with our

federalism? Or is there an inherent tension between the two? Do we miss

seeing anything in Canadian politics amid the constant interplay between

these two institutions?

3. Political culture and political economy are clearly foundational in Canadian

politics. Discuss this sentence with reference to one or more of our three

founding pillars in Canada, as Peter H. Russell sees it: Indigenous

Canadians, French Canadians, and English Canadians.
