2. Experimental Objectives

The overall objective of this experiment is to explore various properties and performance of a simple refrigeration cycle using R134A as

refrigerant. Specific objectives to accomplish include:

• Experimental evaluation of the pressure temperature relationship for R134A under saturation conditions

• Determination of volumetric efficiency of the refrigeration compressor

• Determination of heat transfer rates of evaporator, condenser and coefficients of performance under various operating conditions

• Determination of heat transfer coefficient in the condenser
