Select 6 images from the Metropolitan Museum of Art database (http://www.metmuseum.org); one for each of the 6 purposes and functions of art that we learned about in last week's lecture.

4) Art for Public & Personal Expression

5) Art for the Spirit

6) Art for Political Purposes

Try and pick images that are from different cultures and time periods. Explain, in your own words, why you think that work of art exemplifies that particular purpose or function. Make sure to include a thumbnail image of each piece you select and label the image with the artist (if known), the media, and date created. Your paper should have a MINIMUM of 7 citations (one for each artwork and one for the Met website) Refer to the Citation guide in this week's module for correct format
