Question

You will identify one evidence-based intervention or instructional strategy that addresses differentiating instruction for the needs of exceptional learners and submit a short (2-3 pages) paper summarizing the research on the chosen intervention/strategy as well as your evaluation/reflection. The following steps are suggested:

1. After reading about the needs of exceptional learners you will

explore current research on an intervention or instructional strategy that addresses differentiating instruction for their needs (you may choose one area of disability/exceptionality).

2. Use the search engine ERIC (access through St. John's Online Library) and/or Google Scholar to search for peer-reviewed research articles (or a case study) (can be either qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method) on an intervention strategy. I highly encourage you to visit St. John’s library for support (also watch my video on how to navigate the SJU online library).

3. Identify at least one article published within the last five years on a specific intervention that demonstrate effectiveness to teach the anticipated challenges of learners with exceptional needs.

4. Write a summary of the article and include your evaluation/reflection on the strategy and the research study (see rubric for the details).
