Question

There are three text styles that you will be using: A100, A140, and A200. Do not use any other text style.

1) Set your limits in Model Space to 19.5, 12.5

2) Using the proper layers and dimension styles, accurately draw and dimension the widget as shown on

the last page. See page 3 for construction tips.

a. Select "Show menu bar" and make use of the "Construction

Line" tool (found under the "Draw" pull-down menu) for laying

out the linework per the dimensions shown. Note that

construction lines are "Rays" of infinite lengths that will extend

horizontally, vertically, and at specified angles, but they will not

plot. Be sure to use the "CONSTRUCTION" layer for these rays,

and the "OBJECT" layer for the actual object lines.

3) Complete "SECTION A-A". Add a centerline to the thru hole and add an Annotative Hatch using the

ANSI31 pattern and a hatch scale of 1. Check your hatch annotation scale(s) in the Properties palette.

1/n4) Prior to adding dimensions, utilize the "Center Mark" tool from the Annotation

ribbon and place them as shown on the attached example. Once the center marks

are inserted, the lines can be stretched or shortened by using the grips that appear

when the center mark is selected. These center marks should be placed on the

"CENTERLINE" layer. Do not draw your centerlines manually.

i. What is the length of line 'a'?_

5) When you think you are finished, check your drawing for accuracy. Even if your dimensions match

what is on the example, you can still have lines and arcs that are not tangent. Zoom in close if you need

to. There should be no lines/arcs overlapping and there should be no gaps between lines and arcs.

a. Using the Properties palette, individually select the lines labeled 'a' and 'b':

6) Switch over to paper space by selecting the "ANSI A" layout tab. A viewport already exists in its proper

location; however, the dimensioned widget must be displayed in the viewport at a scale of 1:2. HINT:

To assist in centering the widget in your viewport, double-click inside the viewport to switch to Model

Space and then do a Zoom All. This will get it close to being centered by utilizing the drawing limits that

you set in the beginning, but the scale will be off. Set the viewport scale to 1:2 and then LOCK YOUR

VIEWPORT! If your dimensions and/or text are not being displayed in your viewport, check your scales.
