Question

1. A care is travelling along a road at 20 ms¹. The road is horizontal and straight. A constant braking force is applied to the car until it comes to a rest. a) Assuming that there are no other horizontal forces acting on the car, i) After a distance of 75m, the car's velocity has reduced to 10 ms. Calculate the acceleration of the car.(2) ii) Find the time taken for the car's velocity to reduce from 20 ms-¹ to 0 ms-¹. (2) iii) Given that the mass of the car is 1400kg, determine the size of the constant braking force.(2) b) Given that a constant air resistance force of 200N acts on the car during its motion, calculate the size of the constant breaking force if a) i) is still valid.
