Question

1.An ammonia vapour-compression refrigeration cycle is shown below. The flow rate of the ammonia is 0.05 kg/s. (a) Ammonia enters the compressor at 0°C and 100 kPa. The compressor draws a power of 2.5 kW.If the ammonia exits the compressor at 1.4 MPa, determine the temperature at the compressor exit (2). (b) The ammonia exits the condenser as saturated liquid with no pressure drop (3). What is the rate of heat transfer from the ammonia in the condenser in kW? (c)The ammonia passes through the expansion valve, where the pressure drops to 120 kPa (4).Determine the temperature of the ammonia at the expansion valve exit. You may approximate the exit pressure of 120 KPa with a pressure of 119.5 kPa.
