3.3 Assignment: Safe water access project
In this assignment, you will research issues related to clean water access in
Indigenous communities in Canada (causes such as residential schools, reservations,
treaties, systemic racism, Indian Act, corporate and government pollution, -related
problems, and proposed solutions). You will use your ability to demonstrate an
understanding of analyzing the properties of commonly used chemical substances and
their effects on human health and the environment and propose ways to lessen their
impact. You will further communicate your findings related to your chosen clean water
issue and take a real action of your choice to help raise awareness of this issue. You
will use the feedback on this assignment to improve your understanding of chemistry
concepts for future work, and to ensure you have the knowledge needed for future
units in this course.
This assignment is worth 15% of your course grade.
