2. An employer wants to know which days of the week employees are absent due to medical leave (MC)in a five-day work week. The employer believes that employees are absent due to MC equally during the week. A random sample of 40 departments across all states were asked on which day of the week they observed the highest number of employee absences due to MC. The results are shown in Table1. Help the employer to decide whether the days for highest number of absences due to MC occur with equal frequencies during a five-day work using a 5% level of significance.
