2. Assignment

The assignment has the following components:

1. Produce a simple sequential sequence for three products being produced based on

the order of process steps, this should be presented as a Gantt Chart. Provide

discussion on the sequential sequence, this should include highlighting limiting steps

and cycle times, and a discussion the possibilities for reducing the time to complete

operation.

2. Produce an alternative schedule for the process that includes 2 complete batches for

each of the 3 products, this should be presented as a Gantt Chart. Provide discussion

on the method including how it was conducted, the benefits of the system and any

limitations, you should include all the considerations and calculations incorporated

into the design. The aim of the alternative schedule is to reduce the overall cycle time

and increase the efficiency of equipment.

3. In your conclusion you should justify your design and indicate the key savings made,

and indicate any further work required. This can include any additional

data/information required to help inform decision making.
