2.This assignment has made me more aware in terms of privilege being experienced by the majority groups and the subtle discrimination and disadvantages in form of micro aggression that minority group has to deal with on everyday basis. Social context play important role in conveying group privileges and disadvantages. Dominant people in society are often showered with all the privileges in society and the weaker or minority groups are often oppressed.  These unearned privileges are often not acknowledged by privileged group and this makes them indifferent to racial /minority issues but minority groups often feel uncomfortable and alienated.   They are often subjected to micro aggression or microinvalidation which are mild and subtle discriminatory practices which are not too evident in observation and negated by majority group . In this assignment we learned that Majority or privileged group are seen as “ the norm” in the society which help then gain desirability and ease in society and are often reflected throughout society in media, stores, workplace which give them sense of entitlement and all this help them to retain their privileged status and succeed whereas minority are always in fear of discrimination and struggle to gain status and success in the same society.
