VMs also provide a way to streamline and organize tasks. The VM I researched was VirtualBox. VirtualBox is the VM which I have the most experience with and has numerous benefits. The software's biggest selling point is that it is open source and can be easily configured to anyone's liking. Another massive positive is that the software is free and able to virtualize any mainstream operating system. The one drawback is that some older systems may not be able to run this software as optimized as newer machines. Overall, VirtualBox has several pros that outweigh its cons and therefore makes an excellent choice for a VM software. 2nd Response View profile card for Katherine Chinchilla Espana 2-1: Virtualization Platforms Katherine Chinchilla Espana There are many virtualization platforms that can be used for organizational needs. One of these is Proxmox VE, a popular open-source virtualization platform that offers many advantages and disadvantages. Proxmox VE allows for easy scaling of your virtual infrastructure, making it suitable for growing environments. It supports both KVM and LXC technologies, this provides a powerful platform for virtualizing workloads. The speed of Proxmox VE has also received high praise from many users. Unfortunately, it's wide range of features and customization options can be overwhelming for new users or small teams without a dedicated IT support, making it a bit difficult to implement compared to others. However, Proxmox VE meets the needs of organizations that require a robust and scalable virtualization solution. It is particularly well-suited for businesses that need to manage virtual machines, containers, and highly available clusters efficiently.
