Question

21. For this question you will be writing a properly formatted lab report with headings for two sections. Your task is to create an observation table based on the experiment and

complete the calculations. [7 marks]/nThe Mole Lab Experiment Purpose: The purpose of this lab is to determine the number of moles of two different samples. Materials: • mass balance • 100 mL beakers • plastic spoons • sample 1: salt (NaCl) • sample 2: sugar (C12H22O11) Procedure: 1. Place an empty 100 mL Beaker on a balance and record the mass in grams. 2. Place sample 1 into the beaker and place it on the balance and record the mass in grams. 3. Place another empty 100 mL beaker on a mass and record the mass in grams. 4. Place sample 2 into the beaker and place it on the balance and record the mass in grams. Experiment: Sample 1 An empty beaker on a balance measuring 98.3 grams and a beaker containing salt on a balance measuring 104.5 grams. Sample 2 An empty beaker on a balance measuring 97.5 grams and a beaker containing sugar on a balance measuring 102.1 grams. Observations Create your own observations table with the following headings: • mass of empty beaker • mass of sample + beaker • mass of sample • molar mass of sample (Note: include units where applicable.) Calculations Find the moles of each sample. Solve the problem using the GRASS (GRASP) method
