Question

3. A charge q₁ = 1 nC is fixed at (0, 2) m and a second charge q2 = -2 nC is fixed at (3,0) m. Point P is at (3, 3) m

(a) Determine the electric field vector at P.

(b) Determine the electric potential at P.

(c) Charge 1 is now removed. A charge of -4 nC, with a mass of 0.1 g is placed at P with some initial velocity v. Due to its initial velocity and the effect of charge 2, the new charge moves towards charge 2, momentarily coming to rest at position (3, 1) m, before starting to move back upwards. Determine the initial velocity of the charge, expressing your answer as a vector.
