a) Write a report describing the significance of strain gauges and Wheatstone

bridge in applications from a chosen area of mechanical or civil or

electrical/robotics engineering. Your report should contain a genuine literature

review (not a website from a Google search; with a minimum of 2-3 references),

diagrams and structured into: title, introduction, main body, references and

appendices. The report should not exceed 500 words excluding appendices

and should be written in your own words.

b) Below is the arrangement of strain gauges in the Wheatstone bridge. Solve

V using a voltage nodal analysis for a given Vdc-10V. Show that V=0 when

R1=R2=R3=R4=R (say). Find out the value of V for a given R1=R4=10 ohms

and R2=R3= 20 ohms.
