Diagram, the working substance is an ideal gas with gamma factory. The number of moles of gas

is such that nR = 4.0 J/K. In the diagram T = 500 K. Tc = 300 K, and ∆S = 1.0 J/K.

(a) In the following table ∆U is the change of internal of the gas, Q is heat transfer to the gas, and W

is work done by the gas. The row labeled 'Net' is for one complete cycle. Compute each quantity

and fill in the table with the results.

(b) Derive a symbolic expression for the efficiency of this cycle in terms of TH and TC

(c) Evaluate the efficiency when TH = 500 K and Tc = 300 K.
