Ans) The five relational capacities are courage, compassion, competence, communication, and commitment. To develop these capacities in this situation, I should critically analyse the situation and logically reason out the inhibitions in the minds of patients despite good turnout in outreach programs. I should be able to harness communication skills to effectively and courageously bring out the statistics and advocate the necessity of administering vaccines (5 C’s of Nursing, 2022). Firstly, for courage, an effective strategy should be to directly confront the fears of the parents in a cumulative group meeting consisting of all parents and stakeholders and verbally communicate the complications involved with the situation and remedial measures like creating awareness amongst the people for their own safety. Secondly, strategies to evoke compassion should be effective empathetic demeanour towards the patients, entertaining the kids with toys and stories, performing routine administration of care for them, ensuring safe vaccination, regular follow-up, and ensuring safety and efficacy regarding symptoms appearance and post-follow-up care.
