Question

5. Does sleep deprivation cause us to be either more or less aggressive? To test this hypothesis, a psychologist randomly assigns volunteer participants to sleep deprivation periods of either 0, 24, or 48 hours. Subsequently, participants are tested for aggressive behavior in a controlled social situation. Aggression scores indicate the total number of different aggressive behaviors, such as put-downs, arguments, or verbal interruptions, demonstrated by participants during the test period. The following table represents the data obtained.

Do these data indicate any significant differences in aggressive behaviors among the three groups of students? State the null and research (alternative) hypotheses in words and using symbols. Conduct the appropriate hypothesis test with a = .05 and state your conclusion in terms of this problem. Make sure to write APA style conclusions.
