9. Explain the term cursor. Explain why a transaction may have many cursors. Also, how is it possible that a transaction may have more than one cursor on a given table?

The term cursor basically means the pointer to a set of rows. There are times when a transaction may need to process more than one table at a time, in such conditions a user can open a cursor on two views of the table, so there will be two cursors open to a table for that transaction. A transaction can use two or more cursors either in sequence or at the same time to execute different queries or a transaction. One or more cursors also uses considerable memory.
