a) A ground source heat pump heats a building by extracting heat from the ground and pumping it into the building. Draw a diagram showing the flow of energy as the heat pump cycles. Include in your diagram the pump, the reservoirs, and all energy flows associated with either heat or work. b) What would be an appropriate definition of the 'performance' of this heat pump in terms of of the quantities Qh and Q.? Clearly justify your answer. Is the value of this measure of 'performance' bounded (i.e., can it take on any value or is it constrained to be greater than or less than some particular value)? c) Re-express your answer from b) in terms of only the temperatures of the reservoirs, Th and Te.
