(a) Suppose you attach a 2 pound weight to a spring and it stretches the spring 2 ft. Using mg = krwith mg 2 and a= 2 to find a value for the spring constant k.. (b) Solve the differential equation for the spring if a mass with mass m = 3 slugs (yes, slugs is the unit of mass for the English system of measurement and I can't do anything about it) is attached to the spring in part (a). Assume no damping c = 0 and that the mass is released from rest from a point 2 units in the positive direction. Find the equation of motion. (c) Graph the equation of motion (you can do a rough sketch based on a computer-assisted or calculator-assisted graph).
