HB While games in general have been around. since before the King Tut era, video games of course don't date back quite that far. However, video games do have their own rich history and have evolved tremendously over the past 50 years. Which is why, for this lab, you will be creating a video game timeline. To create your timeline, you can (and should!) certainly use information provided in the unit, but you will also want to do some additional research online into the history of video games. A full list of the minimum required elements to include in the timeline can be found at the end of the lab instructions. Also, research online some of the history of both non-electronic games and movies and add at least three major events, releases, or developments that are influenced by or have influenced video gaming. Ideas for items could include: the development of Magic: The Gathering, the release of video-game related movies like Ready Player One or The Game Wizard, movies inspired by video games like the Tomb Raider series, or the emergence of Dungeons and Dragons. When it comes to how your timeline will be formatted and designed, you have complete creative freedom. You can: create a vertical timeline or a horizontal timeline.
