AREN 4506 Assignment #5 This assignment will introduce students to the process of performing quantity take-offs and counts using Bluebeam. Please note that students are welcome to work together on this assignment, but every student is expected to do their own work and submit their own file as a deliverable. For the actual project submission, you are welcome to divide tasks among team members as you see fit. However, this assignment is expected to be completed by each student, as this is an important skill that all students will need to develop for success in this course. Overview Bluebeam is a popular PDF tool used in many engineering and construction contexts. This assignment is intended to help introduce students to the workflows associated with using Bluebeam for doing quantity take-offs and counts to support estimating processes. Specific deliverables required are outlined below. Please reference the subset of the semester project documents when completing this assignment. This subset of drawings is linked to this assignment on Canvas. Deliverables The following deliverables must be included in this assignment submission. 1. [1 Point] Generate a QTO in SF for the 1" (ground) level of the parking garage. Exclude the ramp (and ramp parking) from this QTO. 2. [1 Point] Generate a QTO in SF of snowmelt zone that will need to be installed on Level 5 (Roof). 3. [1 Point] Familiarize yourself with curved take-offs by determining the SF of road surface area that is a part of "Public Alley", North of Grandview, as shown on A1- 000. 4. [1 Point] Generate a count of doors for all levels of the parking structure. 5. [1 Point] Generate a count of trees to be planted around the project site (just for the garage, not the hotel). 6. [2 Point] Accuracy of take-offs: a. Make sure to calibrate your take-offs any time you're calculating a quantity on a drawing with a different scale. b. Make sure to carefully review the instructions for counted take-offs to ensure that you have included/excluded appropriate items. 7. [3 Points] Format and Professionalism: Document all take-offs in the Bluebeam report, save your file including all markups and submit this. Make sure to review your deliverable for clarity prior to submission. Your file must include: a. Cover page with name and specific QTO values for all required items. Also include assumptions (if applicable). b. Drawings with mark-ups c. Report of all mark-ups
