ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS Need to Answer in the Template File Background For this assignment, you will explore Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) goals, learning objectives, and activities. You will select goals for a group of children, write learning objectives to meet the goals, and plan activities that will support the learning objectives and the goals. For this assignment, we will use Wisconsin's Early Model Learning Standards. You will be able to apply this same strategy with your own state's early learning standards in your program on your own. Directions Create a chart to demonstrate an understanding of Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) goals, learning objectives, and activities for one age group - either Infant/Toddler or Preschool. First, select an age group for this assignment- either Infant/Toddler or Preschool. For the chosen age group, download the template provided below (in Additional Resources). Second, thoroughly review and complete the template of the chosen age group. Write one (1) developmentally appropriate goal for each of the five domains of Wisconsin's Model Early Learning Standards. You will have five (5) goals total. Health and Physical Development Social and Emotional Development Language Development and Communication Approaches to Learning Cognition and General Knowledge Write one (1) developmentally appropriate learning objective that supports each goal. You will have five (5) objectives total. Each learning objective must be measurable, include conditions for the objective to be met, and include criteria for acceptable performance. Create one (1) developmentally appropriate activity that supports both the goal and the learning objective. You will have five (5) activities total. Include the following for each activity: Title of activity Length of the activity Brief, detailed description and explanation of how to do the activity. Choose an appropriate sub-domain from the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards for each goal/objective/activity. You will have five (5) activities total.
