Take the same broom you use in (a). Lay the broom flat horizontally as in FIGURE 3 and try to spin it with one hand about its centre. After that, stand it upright vertically as in FIGURE 4 and try to twist it with your fingers about its centre. Which position of the broom is easier to rotate? Why? Hint: Calculate the moment of inertia for the broom in both positions. Take necessary measurements to help with your calculations i.e. the radius of broom and the length of the broom.
