This study investigates the potential and consequences of integrating IoT into aged care settings, focusing on its ability to enhance the well-being of elderly individuals and support carers in providing more effective and empathetic care. IoT solutions include wearable health monitors, smart home automation systems, ambient assisted living technology, and remote patient monitoring. These interconnected devices gather up-to-date information on health indicators, daily routines, and environmental factors, enabling caretakers to proactively identify potential health issues, prevent accidents, and provide timely resolutions. IoT technology is growing as the world population ages, and this literature review covers IoT in elderly care. The research shows that IoT deployments may improve older people's quality of life, relieve healthcare system burdens, and save expenses. IoT applications are crucial in smart cities, intelligent homes, education, transportation, healthcare, and defense, revolutionizing remote patient monitoring and improving patients' health. The study explores the potential disruptive impact of IoT on elderly care, emphasizing the need for a human- centered strategy. IoT technology enhances the care ecosystem for the elderly population. INTRODUCTION The elderly population in the world is predicted to rise from 8.5% of the overall population in 2015 to 12% and 16.7% in the years 2030 and 2050, respectively, because of advancements in medical sciences and technology(Tun, Madanian et al. 2021). In general, this group needs additional medical resources, such as medicines, nurses, or doctors, particularly if they wish to continue living independently. As a result, the aging population and its associated medical needs have grown, placing additional strain on the healthcare system in a variety of ways, including increasing medical costs and a rise in chronic illnesses. Financial and human resource limitations might affect the availability and quality of healthcare services for elder citizens. The phrase "Internet of Things" (IoT) refers to a network including interconnected devices and sensors that possess the capacity to collect, exchange, and investigate data over the Internet. Within the field of geriatric care, the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) introduces an innovative and transformative approach to addressing the unique needs of elderly individuals(Kumar, Tiwari et al. 2019). The Internet of Things (IoT) provides simultaneous support to caretakers and healthcare professionals by promoting the security, well-being, and autonomy of individuals. The use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in the domain of elderly care encompasses a wide range of intelligent devices and systems that can be seamlessly integrated into the living spaces and healthcare establishments of senior citizens. Wearable health monitors, smart home automation, ambient assisted living technologies, remote patient monitoring devices, and virtual communication platforms are essential components of Internet of Things (IoT) based solutions aimed at delivering care to elderly people(Pal, Funilkul et al. 2018). LITERATURE REVIEW The present study aims to conduct a comprehensive review of the existing literature to provide a thorough understanding of the topic at hand. The inclusion of a literature review has been a crucial element in the study plan. A comprehensive investigation was undertaken to ascertain pertinent scholarly papers, articles, and studies about the Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of senior care. Our comprehensive scan involved using precise keywords to scour databases. The keywords were formulated to encompass the vast expanse of IoT applications: "Elderly Care," "IoT," "Smart Homes," "Wearable Devices," "Remote Health Monitoring," and more. Databases like PubMed, Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, and ScienceDirect were invaluable in this quest. RELATED WORK: BROAD SCAN AND READING 1.1. Round 1 The keywords that are picked for the exploration are reading and broad scanning to pinpoint and complete the idea at hand and they can distinguish a wide range of parts of the research topic.
