Question

Design a fourbar linkage to carry the bucket from a filling position on top of the scales on the table, to a dumping position over the conveyor belt. An intermediate position is specified to help ensure that the corner of the table is cleared. It is desirable that the moving pivots be on the bucket, and the fixed pivots be within the area of the table. Build a scale model (e.g. cardboard and thumbtacks) on top of the original drawing to prove the motion is achieved. The original drawing and all the graphical constructions should be included as the background for the model. Add a driving dyad to the fourbar to allow a motor to drive a crank continuously, while the bucket moves back and forth between its loading and dumping positions. Add to the model to prove this motion is achieved. Your submission should include the following: (i) a scanned image of the graphical constructions used to obtain the linkage.
