Eight (8) objectives:

o Patient Centered Care of The Older Adult Population

Analyze issues and scenarios related to gerontological nursing, demonstrating

leadership and caring while providing culturally competent, client-centered care

to the older adult population., culturally competent care.

This is where I'm educating my team. Leadership with more direct patient

care. (3 or more paragraphs in this objective. 1 Paragraph will be in 1st

person (where I discuss my experiences in using this concept) and the

other 2 will be 3rd person.

o Intentional Learning in Caring for The Older Adult Client

Demonstrate intentional learning with reflection as it relates to caring for the older

adult client.

▪ This is where I go beyond to learn more (looking up medications, side

effects, contraindications, etc).

o Evidence Based Gerontological Nursing Concepts

Understand and apply the integration of evidence in supporting concepts and

processes which relate to gerontological nursing concepts.

This includes evidence-based information, latest changes, latest protocols

that are important. Talk about it, describe it, and share experience.

o Assessment of the Older Adult Clients

Demonstrate clinical reasoning and decision-making skills while assessing the

older adult clients' health care needs and interventions.
