FINAL PROJECT: For your final project, you will

write either an essay or a reported piece focused on

a contemporary issue in the news industry or a

recent news event. This could be an analysis of

how a particular media outlet covered something

that happens during this semester, it could be an

exploration into new forms of journalism or

technologies, it could be a reflective look at how

an aspect of news production has changed. The end

result will be a 2,000 word piece. Your final

project will be text-driven but enhanced by visual

elements like any quality editorial piece. Students

CAN expand on one of their case study essays for

their final project. Students will meet with

professor throughout the semester to fine-tune their

proposal and discuss progress on the project.
