Question

• Ignatian Reflection Write a brief reflection that addresses: Kantian ethics promotes punishment based on the values of retributive justice, in which people are made responsible for their actions and punished suitably (Kant, 2020). Such an opinion contradicts that of utilitarian techniques that promote increasing broader satisfaction. I can somewhat admit I am partial to Kant's theory that punishment must be adequate and reasonable according to the moral offense performed functioning to discourage and safeguard the principles of morality. However, I find myself also agreeing with the Kantian theory of retribution regarding execution as it fails to meet everyone and every case norm of the categorical imperative. 1.
