Question

Imagine that you are the warden of a large prison that is understaffed. Unfortunately, because officers are stressed, they are cutting corners like doing favors for inmates when they know they

shouldn't and behaving with little patience or compassion. You need to find a way to better train incoming staff and encourage a strong work ethic and positive traits. So you've decided to build a training program to help with your mission: the officer integrity program. When you tell your supervisor about this idea, she is pleased! She has some feedback for you via email: "Be sure to incorporate the following directions into your program. Use the answers to the following questions to guide you as you create your officer integrity program: • What are three unethical behaviors being displayed by correctional workers in prisons that need to be addressed? What are the consequences of these behaviors (how is the prison system and our country as a whole affected?) • What are at least six strategies that could be used to address each behavior (minimum of two per behavior)?/n• What are at least six strategies that could be used to address each behavior (minimum of two per behavior)? How will making these changes help improve the health and safety of both employees and inmates?" Make sure to address your supervisor's directions as you create your program.
