In 500-550 words, write an email on behalf of Exxon's Business Communications team that will restore employee confidence in how they work and their future at the company. This email should be written from the point of view of the company's business communications team-speaking on behalf of the company's leaders to the employees (your audience). As a reminder, all business/formal letters should follow the format provided in our last lecture. Finally, you may sign off the newsletter from the Exxon's Business Communications team. Earlier this week, it came to the Chief Communications Officer's attention that the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and other news outlets published a series of stories alleging that the company concealed climate change issues. Now, the negative press is affecting the company's overall reputation. Employees recently voiced their concerns saying that they have not heard from the company's senior leaders who were once respected, and trusted. Some employees who have worked at the company for 35-40 years were laid off too because of the blow to Exxon's reputation. The problem is, your current employees are scared and nervous, they are starting to apply for other positions outside of the company as they think Exxon's finances have been impacted by the negative news. Nervousness is contagious and you need to calm your current employee base by letting them know that you have a plan in place—and initiatives to help the company address climate change issues.
