In this inquiry you will investigate the electromagnetic spectrum in your home. You're welcome to work in teams; simply turn in a single report with your names clearly written at

the top. Clearly box all answers. Find examples around the house (e.g., items, appliances, phenomena) that incorporate each region of the electromagnetic spectrum: radio, microwave, IR, visible, UV, X-ray, and gamma ray. One example from each region is sufficient. Don't use ones already identified in class; however, you are welcome to consult books, the internet, or other references for ideas. For each example complete the following: a) Region of spectrum; b) Example; c) Brief physical explanation for how the radiation arises; d) Wavelength, frequency, photon energy; and e) Estimated intensity (W/m^2) of radiation.
