Question

In Yanker's essay he discusses some of the practices when creating an

effective political poster and those practices are. They created posters

to express their criticisms and frustrations that people have with the

political landscape and they would make sure that their well designed

posters would get across the "radio, television and newspapers". It was a

good way back then for activists to get their message across about the

growing problems in our society during that time. In my opinion I believe

that political posters are still useful in this day and age with social

media because. It would still be a good way to get certain points across

to the people in fact creating a political poster in this day and would be

a lot better now than it would be back then because. Now that we have all

of these different social medias I would help get the message across way

faster than it would back in the day. For example there were some

political posters that were made back in 2016 when Donald Trump was

running for president some posters were made to support him and then there

were some posters that say that the country would be in danger if he were

put into office. Even though political hand made posters are not as

popular as they were back then thanks to digital art they still serve a

purpose in getting their message across to other people. In the article

about top protesters in history I saw about 11 political posters that do

their best in getting the message across to people. The one poster that

had caught my eye was the 7th poster "Come together in Peace". This

poster was made back in 1968 where "students gathered at the Rhode island

school of design to create posters in protest of the Vietnam War." I do

believe that this poster is the best job of getting the point across that

war doesn't solve anything and that we should all come together and make

peace with one another. The way it does that is by showing two hands

coming together and forming a handshake in showing that everyone should

come together and stop fighting. This poster that was created by students

follows most if not all of the guidelines in order to make a very good

political poster to get your point across.
