Failure to do so will result in the penaltiesbelow. Assignment Specification: You are required to design and implement a website for an imaginary e-commerce system that sells any product of your choice, however, the chosen topic must be approved by your teacher. The website should facilitate viewing of the available products, prices, offers, company annual sales and information about the company. Use the knowledge acquired throughout this course such as web design using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to develop a high-quality web-site, as outlined in the list of tasks below: TASK-1: Website Design Planning [10 marks] Using the Waterfall Project Management model, plan your website design and development by identifying the various stages, including planning, requirements analysis, system design, development and maintenance, as well as the duration of each stage. Then, use any suitable software package of your choice to draw a Gantt chart (Waterfall) that shows a detailed plan of the main stages of software development. Insert the Gantt chart in the introduction section of the report (Task 3.1). TASK-2: Implementation and demonstration [60 marks] a) Design and implement the e-commerce website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The website should have 6 pages in total, including a home page, products page, customer registration page, contact us page and 2 additional pages of your choice. The website should have a navigation menu with hover effects. All pages should be linked and work without errors. Make sure that you utilise both internal and external CSS, and you must include ALL the tags learnt in the module. Use JavaScript, to change and restore original image with mouse events, and for data validation. a) Presentation in class and response to questions (50 marks) (10 marks) Page 2 of 4 TASK 3: Report Write a report of 600-800 words which consists of the following: [30 marks] 1 Title Page 2 Table of Contents 3 Introduction to the project Begin by introducing the project, highlighting its objectives and scope. Explain why the Waterfall Project Management approach is suitable for this task. Provide specific reasons and examples to support your explanation. Discuss the potential drawbacks of following the Waterfall Project Management model. Identify any limitations or challenges that may arise while implementing this approach. Ensure to include the Gantt Chart that was developed in task 1. Website Analysis (10 marks) (5 marks) A statement of the functionality achieved, as described in the specification and a list of any bugs in your website (if you don't think there are any then please say so). Bugs that are declared in this list will lose you fewer marks 5 (5 marks) Reflection Statement A brief (up to 300 words) reflection on the strengths and weaknesses of your website. This is your opportunity to show what you have achieved, why you have done things in a particular way and what you have learned from the process. 6 (5 marks) Screenshots Screen shots of your website in operation. Please include notes with your screen shots to explain how they illustrate the functionality you have implemented. 7 (3 marks) Conclusion References Provide references of images etc. (2 marks) Page 3 of 4 DELIVERABLES: Two submissions links would be available on the BrightSpace near the submission date. 1. Zip folder of the website that should include soft copies of the HTML, CSS, JavaScript files and images 2. Report in Word format (No PDF) to be submitted on Turnitin link Turnitin Submission Guideline Report in Word format should be uploaded to Turnitin through your subject Brightspace page. You will need to be logged in as yourself, and to upload your work to your specific subject and your teacher. It is very important not to upload to another subject or another teacher. The Turnitin submission page will be open at least two weeks before the coursework submission deadline, in order to give you an opportunity to review the similarity report, proofread and edit. You can, and should, edit your submitted coursework as many times as you like before the submission deadline. We encourage students to do this to ensure that the final piece of work is properly referencedand not plagiarized. If you have any doubts as to what constitutes plagiarism, please refer to the Plagiarism BrightSpace page and the plagiarism guidelines in this handbook. Turnitin does an originality check and generates a similarity report and index within 24 hours, but resubmission always takes 24 hours, except for practice submissions. Students must submit their final draft though Turnitin at least 24 hours before the submission deadline, for their similarity report to be available.
