INSTRUCTIONS This Primary Source Analysis Assignment paper should be entitled, "Primary Source Analysis for Section 2." This can be from ANY "one or two" of the Primary Source DOCUMENTS found within Modules 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9, corresponding to Section 2. NOTE: this must be from DOCUMENT(S) found within the book or another Primary Source suggested by the professor or suggested by the student AND AGREED UPON by the Professor (e.g. NOT map found in the textbook). Then, entitle each section of your paper as follows as "Context," "Explanation," and "Application," (in that EXACT order). Note what each section should include, if possible: Context - this step addresses who is writing, what movement or events were taking place at the time of the writing, where they lived, and when the person lived (the main text of this chapter and class lecture will greatly help you on this - and it is suggested that you quote from the textbook and class discussions). Explanation consider what is the person's man argument, are they complaining about something, motivating the reader to action, etc. Again, good note-taking and reading skills will come into play here to assist you to write extensively. Application -how does each document contribute to understanding the period covered in the chapter, and how should the modern reader interpret these documents. You can and really should also express YOUR feelings on the document(s) and elaborate on what you have learned, if you agree with the author or disagree, and how you can put this information into use. This assignment will require at least two pages of writing (Type 12 Font Times New Roman, and double-spaced). This papers will NOT be accepted after April 13th at 11:59 PM. Please consult the Course Schedule. Class Participation - Extra Credit. Your thoughts are important, both for my knowledge of how much you are learning, and for your own development. By contributing to class during discussions the student can receive extra credit towards their upcoming paper. Please keep in mind that the student can also receive negative class participation points if they do not respond when called upon by the instructor (in Zoom classes)./n
