referendum, was approved by the voters with a 63 to 37% margin at a special election. The governor of the state

has signaled that he or she will call a special session of the state legislature so that it can begin to write laws to

regulate the sale of marijuana. The president, U.S. Attorney General, and several members of Congress have

denounced this move as dangerous to public health as have several other members of Congress.
