2 Executive Summary
The aim of this report is to discuss the concept and benefits of green business. The environment has
suffered from the carbon footprint of businesses through the years. This topic was investigated by using
multiple secondary data.
The results indicate that in order to protect the environment, more businesses need to go green because
green businesses have decreased the greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, going green has its
challenges, such as the lack of knowledge and skills. Moreover, this report discusses some successful
green businesses and their sustainable practices.
No green business owner has been consulted in the preparation of this report. This could lead to the
limitation of information and updated statistics.
3 Introduction
The present report investigates the concept and benefits of Green Business. The main aim of the report is
to show that Green Businesses are vital to preserve the environment. In particular, the report attempts to
answer the following three questions:
•
How effective are Green Businesses to the environment?
•
What are sustainable challenges that Green Businesses might face?
•
What are some successful examples of Green Businesses?
The report is organized as follows. First, the background section discusses what is a Green Business and
why it is important. Then, the analysis section presents the data from three sources regarding several
aspects of the topic at hand such as challenges that may occur while implementing sustainable measures
and what positive outcomes that resulted after going green. The report ends with conclusions from the
analysis and gives recommendations on how to address the issue.
Background
The purpose of this report is to analyze the concept and benefits of Green Business and examine the
impacts it has on both the business, and the environment. Green Business also known as sustainable
business, is a business that follows specific ways and strategies to minimize the negative outcomes and
impacts on the environment (IBM institute, 2021). Green businesses aim to reduce environmental
problems such as reducing emissions (which causes global warming) and resource depletion. The term
"sustainable” first appeared in 1713 by Hans carl von Carlowitz, Jacobus (2007). However, businesses
did not care about their footprint until late nineteenth century, Bergquist (2017). Later, people started to
have more awareness regarding the dangers of damaging the environment.
Sustainability's recent development has been noticeable all around the world. Big number of businesses
started directing towards the sustainable or green route. They shifted routes after the occurrence of many
4 unfortunate business accidents that caused harm to the environment. Oil spillages and gas leaks are some
examples of the countless accidents that happened. In addition, many natural disasters occurred at the
same time, such as wildfires, hurricanes, and drought, Carollo (2005). Sustainability has become an
important part of any business around the globe currently. Even though sustainable strategies might not
be the main focus, many if not all businesses have included some of them in their business, Carollo
(2005).
5
The concept and benefits of green/sustainable businesses is one of the most important topics to discuss in
this time and age, because it directly affects our planet's well-being. Unlike green businesses,
unsustainable businesses are known to cause enormous environmental issues. According to Impactday
(2023), "They include resource depletion, pollution of air, water, and soil, habitat destruction, greenhouse
gas emissions, waste generation, and the loss of biodiversity”. Therefore, the environment is in dire need
for help. If businesses keep on increasing their carbon footprint, the consequences will be threatening and
dangerous, not only for the planet, but for all beings habituating it. Therefore, addressing and raising
awareness regarding this serious issue is mandatory.
This report's findings will interest most people, since it discusses an environmental topic that affects
everyone. According to case (2023), people with higher educational degrees and higher salaries are more
likely to be interested in sustainability. In addition, business owners who aim to protect the environment
while carrying on with their business will be interested in this report. New business owners would benefit
from this report to help them understand what a sustainable business is and what challenges it might face./n FULL TITLE of the REPORT

"An Executive Summary presents a brief statement of the problem studied, a statement of how it
was studied, and a summary of the results, conclusions, and recommendations. Executive
summaries are prepared as stand-alone documents that is, they do not relate to specific pages of
the report. The summary can be read and understood as a separate document by people who do
not have access to the complete report."

Then, the analysis section presents the data from three/four/five sources regarding several
aspects of the topic at hand such as
and _. The report ends with conclusions from
the analysis and gives recommendations on how to address the issue.
Background
In the background section of the paper, you must define your terms of reference (Statement of
the background, objectives, and purpose of your report), as well as provide a broader context for
the topic of your report. What is the historical context? What are the recent developments? Why
is the topic important? What segment of the society is affected by the topic? Who might be
interested in the findings? Include as many important facts, expert opinions, and interpretations
as you can. This part of the report sets the stage for your analysis. Write a minimum of one
page. Analysis
This is the most important part of the report. All of your data will be presented here.
All questions should have a chart/graph/table/or figure. With each chart/graph/table/or figure,
you must number it and give it a title. For example, Figure 1. Unemployment in the GCC in
2013. You must also indicate from where you got the data.
Each question in the Analysis will have at least three (3) paragraphs.
For each question:
First: Write the question as shown in the example.
Next: Below the question, begin with Paragraph 1, refer to the example.
Paragraph 1: An introduction to the question, in sentence format, (take your question and change
it into a sentence) and write a background statement(s) of its importance--what you are looking
at/hoping to find.
Paragraph 2: Introduce your chart/graph/table/figure. Then, show your chart/graph/table/figure.
Your chart/graph/table/figure will show the data used to answer your question, and it will show
the answer(s) to your question.
Reminder: With each chart/graph/table/figure, you must number it and give it a title. For
example, Figure 1. Unemployment in the GCC in 2013. You must also indicate from where you
got the data. For example: www.xxx.xxx or referencing an interview, questionnaire, or survey
you conducted.
Paragraph 3: Write a detailed explanation of what your chart/graph/table/figure shows and relate
the evidence to your question and the point that you are trying to make.
If you need two (2) charts to help answer your question, follow the above and add the following:
Paragraph 4: Introduce your chart/graph/table/figure. Then, show your chart/graph/table/figure.
Your chart/graph/table/figure will show the data used to answer your question, and it will show
the answer(s) to your question.
Paragraph 5: Write a detailed explanation of what your Chart/Graph/Table/Figure shows and
relate the evidence to your question and the point that you are trying to make.
