To demonstrate mastery and application of the course material, students will complete a final project of
their own design that will analyze a topic from the course in an interpretive way. The complete project
counts for 15% of the final grade for the course.
Students are encouraged to choose a topic that fits their interests, their personality, and their abilities,
and to apply a multidisciplinary approach from the perspective of their choice (scientific, historical,
political, philosophical, etc.). The goal is for you to engage with the material in a personally meaningful
way.
Your topic must relate in some way to biomimicry, either directly or indirectly. Biomimicry is the use of

You are limited only by your imagination and preferred means of self-expression. Be creative! Some
examples for a final project might be: writing a research paper in the format of a peer-reviewed
publication, conducting a scientific study of your own design, developing a game (board game, card
game, video game, etc.) based on the topic, creating artwork, theater, music, interpretive dance, a
museum display, etc.
