SUMMATIVE WRITING TASK
a) Using the sources used in class (listed below), write a short essay of 400 words (5-8 paragraphs) in formal academic style on the following question:
Are green buildings the buildings of the future? Discuss.
b) Include your completed weekly reading task pasted after your essay
Instructions:
. Make sure to answer the question fully, not just describe the topic or paraphrase the texts (critical thinking).
. Support your discussion with evidence from the texts we read in class - you should cite a minimum of four of the sources
. Use ONLY the sources provided - do not use other sources
. You will need to paraphrase and summarise relevant information from the texts using your own words, sentence structures, and text organization - include citations.
· Use one or two short direct quotations ( 'quotation' ), when appropriate, in your essay; give citations for these.
· Use Harvard-style citations and references (you must include a reference list).
· Word process your essay in MS Word; use Calibri 12 font and single line space; block paragraphs; add page numbers bottom right.
. Students whose work receives a similarity score of 15% or more or an Al-generated text score of 15% or more from Turnitin will be required to resubmit work that falls below these scores

Task
Prepare and deliver a 5-minute individual Powerpoint presentation on a topic of one of your Engineering and Environment assessments.
Submit your PPT to Turnitin on Blackboard.
Instructions
• Think about the assessments you are doing for your other EE modules this semester
. Choose one of these assessments to present on (for example, a project you are doing)
· Prepare to explain it to the audience (your class) at a non-expert level
• Make a PPT to help your presentation. For your ppt, you must have a cover slide, an outline slide, and a references slide. The main body of the ppt should be no more than four slides
· The presentation must be no longer than five minutes long, but not considerably shorter than 5 mins
. You must not read out your presentation verbatim from a script or from your PPT
· Presentations must be your own original work and you must not repeat a presentation already given or read out an assignment
. Presentations will take place in Weeks 19 and 20 ONLY (order to be decided on the day - so be ready!)
