Each WAN option has different types of technology, speed, and cost. In the book “Cisco Intelligent WAN (IWAN) (Networking Technology)” the authors describes the process through which the user apart from the enterprise can connect to the internet by the WAN ports of the router which is used to establish the connection between home router and DSLAM at the local telephone exchange through the loop. There are four types of broadband connectivity provides by ISP which are 1) DSL or Digital Subscriber Line 2) Cable 3) Fibre optic and Wireless.
