Thus, they both are very recent and did not require updating. In terms of currency, both the articles will get 10 out of 10. Relevance The content of both the articles is relevant to my topic. The general public is its intended audience. The language and coverage are appropriate for its intended audience. They both will get 10 out of 10 in relevance. Accuracy The first article was written originally based on recent happenings and the 2nd article is taken from The Canadian Press. None of the articles has any kind of sources cited. The first article will get 2 out of 10, the 2nd article will get 4 out of 10. Authority For the first article, writers are well experienced in this field. For the 2nd article, the author has been working for The Canadian Press for almost 15 years. Thus, both the articles will get 10 out of 10 in the authority department. Purpose The purpose of the articles is to inform the readers about a recent incident in sports in Canada. There is bias found as no one is quoted who is questioning the resignation (Toggle, 1998). Thus, both the articles will get 4 out of 10 for the purpose. Thus, the first article receives a CRAAP score of 36 and the 2nd article gets 38 out of 50. 2. Summary Introduction The two articles that will be summarized here are from two very reputable publications. They both talk about a single serious news incident where the members of the Hockey Canada board have given mass resignation because of alleged sexual harassment against its junior athletes. The first article receives a CRAAP score of 36 and the 2nd article gets 38. Similarly, there are plenty of other differences between these two articles which will be summarized here. Body Firstly, the 2nd article of BNN Bloomberg looks to be more ‘truthful’ than the other one. It is because it was originally published in The Canadian Press. It was a press release and there is no bias or any personal take on the issue. Also, it uses a lot of direct quotes from the stakeholders of the incident. On the other hand, even though the credibility of the authors of the 1st article is great, it somehow lags behind the 2nd article in terms of trustworthiness (Blakeslee, 2004). I believe the 2nd article more because of the source that it has used. The 1st article does not mention any source. Having said that, as the covered news story of both the articles is the same, the authors of these two articles share the same thoughts on the subject. Although there is almost no option to show personal thought while reporting a news story, the way the authors have presented their articles with the quotes of some selective people, shows that both the authors want their audience to believe in something (Myhre, 2012). Thus, they share the same thoughts on the subject. Conclusion From the above discussion, it is found that both the articles are great in terms of currency, relevance, and authority.
