Two wires BD and CD and a pin a point A support a rigid bar ABC, as shown in the figure. The

wires have identical properties with E = 200 GPa, a = 25x10-6 °C and the same cross-sectional

area of 100 mm². If the point load P is equal to 5 kN, what should be the temperature change in

rod DB such that the load in DB is half of the load carried by wire DC? You can assume that the

temperature of wire DC remains constants, that the wires remain elastic and that strains are small.
