An existing vertical shaft paddle flocculator is not performing well. It is the final stage of flocculation. The following data is available L-W-H=6 m,

area of the paddles is 0.7 m² (Co=1.8), and the paddle speed is 1 m/s. Identify the problem and make a quantitative recommendation to fix the

problem.

O G = 54 (1/sec) which is in the range (10-70)1/sec. Then, we have to do nothing.

O G = 110 (1/sec) which is not in the range (10-70)1/sec. Then, we have to increase the paddle speed.

G = 167 (1/sec) which is not in the range (10-70)1/sec. Then, we have to decrease and increase the paddle speed.

O G = 10 (1/sec) which is in the range (10-70)1/sec. Then, we have to increase the paddle speed.

O G = 15 (1/sec) which is in the range (10-70)1/sec. Then, we have to decrease the paddle speed.
