Question Imagine…. After you graduated from Curtin Business School, you landed a job as consultant at Problemco Consultancy in Perth, one of the best consultancy firms in Australia. Paula Problemco, who founded the firm in 1980, is a sharp businesswoman, and always looking or business. Recently, Paula bumped into the article ‘Great Attrition’ or ‘Great Attraction’? The choice is yours, published in McKinsey Quarterly. This article describes that, in the US, record numbers of employees are quitting their jobs or are thinking about doing so. After reading this article and giving it some thought, Paula concluded that the same would be happening soon in Australia. She went online, and indeed, found news articles on this topic. The first article describes that four in ten Australian workers are ready to quit their jobs. The second article describes that the great resignation is coming and questions whether Australia is ready for it. Paula said to herself: “One man's loss is another man's gain! I can earn big money when I can provide senior leadership teams of big organizations advice on how to keep their employees on board”. Paula immediately set up a meeting with some of her most senior consultants – and you. You are invited to join the project team because you graduated only recently and have an enormous amount of knowledge of leadership. Paula thinks that you, therefore, can make a great contribution to the team and, at the same time, can learn a lot from the experience. At the end of the meeting, Paula asks you to come up with an 800-words report – based on theory and research on global leadership – that describes what senior leadership teams of multi-national corporations could do to ensure their employees don’t quit their jobs but, instead, are happy to stay with their organization, and thrive in their jobs. Paula’s requested that you use the learnings from the unit Global Leadership to write your report. Specifically, she asked you to base your recommendations on at least four out of the six perspectives on global leadership mentioned below: Ethical foundations of leadership Ethical leadership Power and influence Leading with meaning Leadership and culture Leadership and motivation Instructions: Write solution in 800 words.
