Research Project: Annotated Bibliography

In my research essay, I am going to talk about Misrepresentation of South Asians in

Media and focus on how Indian stereotypes are depicted in Western movies, podcasts, and TV

shows. I would focus my research topic on how the western media just shows one side of the

story and promotes wrongful image of how Indians are.

These stereotypes have been going on from a past decade and the audience of those

shows, movies or podcasts have been getting wrong ideas ever since then. During my research I

came across different articles not only written by the same ethnicity that is getting

misrepresented but also people from foreign land who made supporting arguments to the topic.

Why just portray the stereotypical part of the ethnicity? Why not also promote the

tradition, culture, or good values too?

My goal with this paper is that the people who reads this would get an understanding that

it is not fair to judge an ethnicity based on entertainment sources. You should always care to

research more and look at both the sides of the story rather that making your arguments and

discriminating people based on one side of the story.
