Teaching Resources Workshop: last class. Your items, with photographs and annotated bibliography, must be placed into the provided Dropbox in our class Moodle site by 5:00p.m. the day before the

final class. For this assignment, you will select five pieces of “text" (or items/resources) that an educator could use within a classroom to address social justice and/or social awareness, i.e. inequity,difference, critical thinking, diversity, or any of the topic areas covered in class during the term.These "texts" should be resources through which educational professionals might begin to address some of the real or perceived deficiencies in the formal curriculum practices and/or documents currently in use in schools.The "texts" you select may be print, visual or media texts (such as videos, music, advertisements,magazine covers), or material objects (for example, a shoe, a game, a dream catcher, a doll). A maximum of two of your items may be electronically sourced. By electronically sourced, I mean only two items may be a URL, YouTube (or other social media) posting, etc. Obviously, since we are online for this course, you will have to "hand in" all five items electronically, so you may use a photograph or drawing of some of your items. Three of your items must be tangible, things that you can pick up at short notice and use without needing access to the internet, or even electricity for that matter. We will share the resources with one another in our online class room on the last day of term. In addition to the five pieces you choose, you must provide a brief annotated description of each one, telling your classmates where they can borrow/find/purchase the item, and how you think it could be used in lesson planning/classroom teaching. Be prepared to talk about your items in small groups, outlining why you chose it and how you will use it in aclassroom.
